Our family has been with this little school since I attended DCPPP in 1978. Though it has seen changes, the strong sense of community has never waned; the legacy it has left is nothing short of a magical gift. My own children, now ages 14, 11 and 4 have all come through the school. I watch my older kids and
clearly recognize a sense of depth and comfort to be characteristic of their long standing preschool friendships, a feeling matched by my own experience. This has remained true for me, even after 40 years. The parent participation option also offered the opportunity for my children and I to connect with the parents of the preschoolers, which has left us with a healthy collection of families we feel close to and familiar with.
At the helm of our school is Teacher Chris. She teaches our children and by extension, she teaches us. Chris honours every child and their interests drive her program. From magical painted gardens on huge canvas’s to watching butterflies emerge from cocoons to teaching kids how to interact with kindness, she helps our little ones become strong little souls ready for kindergarten. Our community is stronger for Chris’s place in it. If it takes a village to raise a child, this is a village worth joining.
