Learn by Nature

EXPLORE, WONDER, PLAY

Deep Cove Parent Involvement Preschool is welcoming little adventurers of children born in 2019-2020.

Our play-based program is designed to enhance children’s areas of strength, and to then encourage them to acquire new knowledge and understanding. Exploration, creative play, and social skills are acquired through unstructured play time. Children participate in daily circle time, with a focus on reading, music, and drama.

Throughout the year, our preschool plans various field trips and social events. These can include a visit to the pumpkin patch, a teddy bear picnic, pajama day, adventures into the local community, and a trip to the ecology centre.

The overall program goal is to provide children with a stimulating, supportive environment that enables them to develop a strong sense of self esteem and self.

Chris’ underlying belief is that through play and an emergent curriculum, children learn with excitement and depth.

REGISTRATION FEES

Annual registration fee of $100 per family. This deposit is required to secure a space for your child.

Monthly fees depend on the number of days your child participates at preschool. Deep Cove PIP follows the school year and is open September - June.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The year end meeting will be held sometime in beginning of June. This meeting will close the current year and ensure all positions and jobs are filled for the next year. Attendance by all parents (both new and returning) is mandatory.

ORIENTATION

Our governing bodies require all parents doing duty complete a 10 hour orientation. This may sound like a lot of time but we break it up into smaller segments and we keep it light and informal so it’s half educational and half social time. It’s a great way to get to know other families and the preschool and make connections within your neighbours and community.

  • Coffee Party/Orientation: 3 hours (informal meeting at the school to get to know the new families and talk to current families about the school)

  • May package and cheque drop off: 1 hour

  • Annual General Meeting 3 hours (this is combined with our end of year party and is always a fun evening!)

  • September Workshop 3 hours (informal meeting at the school to get to know the new families)

After completing your ten hours, and completing and handing in your forms and fees you are ready for your first duty day, and your child is set to have fun, make friends and learn!
