DCPPP has been such a blessing for my family. Not only have all 3 of my children found a community of kids that they will learn and grow with, we found a village of support for our family! Teacher Chris is the best of the best for every child. It’s inclusive, fun and inviting. I highly recommend this preschool!”
The Brempong family
We had the best preschool experience at DCPPP. My daughters thrived there and I loved being involved in the preschool as a duty parent. All of us have made lasting friendships and connections in the community. Teacher Chris was able to bring my shy, anxious daughter out of her shell and really helped us get prepared for kindergarten. We love the DCPPP!”
“We have 4 kids, and 3 of them have attended DCPPP. We are so grateful for the foundation that teacher Chris has provided our children. She has created an inclusive environment where each child feels safe to be their true self. This preschool is a community and one we feel very lucky to be a part of.
The Toevs Family
Our family has been with this little school since I attended DCPPP in 1978. Though it has seen changes, the strong sense of community has never waned; the legacy it has left is nothing short of a magical gift. My own children, now ages 14, 11 and 4 have all come through the school. I watch my older kids and
clearly recognize a sense of depth and comfort to be characteristic of their long standing preschool friendships, a feeling matched by my own experience. This has remained true for me, even after 40 years. The parent participation option also offered the opportunity for my children and I to connect with the parents of the preschoolers, which has left us with a healthy collection of families we feel close to and familiar with.
At the helm of our school is Teacher Chris. She teaches our children and by extension, she teaches us. Chris honours every child and their interests drive her program. From magical painted gardens on huge canvas’s to watching butterflies emerge from cocoons to teaching kids how to interact with kindness, she helps our little ones become strong little souls ready for kindergarten. Our community is stronger for Chris’s place in it. If it takes a village to raise a child, this is a village worth joining.”
Our little school wouldn’t be what it is without Teacher Chris. She has created a culture in which our play based philosophy allows our children to thrive. She is exceptionally caring, creative, and incorporates her lifelong love of the outdoors into her teaching. Parents and children alike don’t soon forget Teacher Chris; as she provides a solid foundation into their future learning. Teacher Chris is a beloved member or our school as well as the Deep Cove community, our school would not be what it is without her.
